Strengthening Key Relationships

Leaders often turn to coaching when they are navigating important relationships with boards, staff, peers, direct reports, funders, or external partners. Coaching provides space to think through dynamics, clarify communication, manage tension, and build more productive, trust-based relationships.

Clarifying Priorities and Decision-Making

Coaching helps leaders sort through competing demands, sharpen their focus, and make more effective decisions. Through structured reflection and practical support, leaders can better distinguish what matters most, where to invest their energy, and how to move forward with confidence.

Leading Through Growth, Change, or Uncertainty

Periods of growth, transition, or uncertainty place new demands on leaders and teams. Coaching supports leaders as they adapt their approach, communicate through change, manage ambiguity, and guide others with steadiness and purpose.

Building Leadership Presence and Effectiveness

Coaching helps leaders better understand how they show up, how they are experienced by others, and how to strengthen their impact. This may include communication style, executive presence, delegation, influence, accountability, and the ability to lead with both clarity and empathy.

Identifying Patterns and Shifting Mindsets

Leaders can sometimes get stuck in recurring patterns, assumptions, or habits that limit their effectiveness. Coaching creates space to notice those patterns, examine underlying mindsets, and develop new approaches that help leaders move past persistent obstacles.

Turning Insight into Action

Coaching helps leaders translate reflection into practical behavior change. Leaders use coaching to test new approaches, build stronger habits, follow through on commitments, and apply what they are learning in the day-to-day realities of their role.

DRG offers executive coaching for both seasoned leaders and those stepping into new or expanded roles. Each engagement is tailored to the leader’s role, context, and goals.

A typical coaching engagement includes:

  • An initial 75-minute discovery session
  • Up to two 45-minute coaching sessions per month, conducted by phone or video
  • Post-session summaries with reflections and action items
  • Between-session check-ins, as needed

To deepen insight and ensure relevance, coaching engagements may also incorporate tools such as 360 degree feedback, input from managers or peers, and organizational data. This helps ground the work in lived experience and align personal development with organizational goals.
